The natural mind. Zen, ecology and the practice of being in the world.

MX$2,200.00

March 14 and 15, 2026.

“The entire world of the ten directions is nothing but the true human body.”

Zen Master Dogen

A life of wisdom is a life in harmony with the natural world. In an age of separation, where we raze vast forests by the minute, where we pollute the air and water, the thought of living in harmony with the natural world seems a long-forgotten dream. Like a sand castle swept away by waves we are eroding the very foundation of our existence. Still, we can return to a simpler, more careful, watchful way of life -- if we know the path.

The forgotten path of being present, present with the world.

Come and join us in this space to explore the experience of being alive in this beautiful living tissue we call earth. Inspired in the ecological practice of Zen Buddhism, we will study and practice ways to be more present in our bodies and in this world.

This training is for anybody wanting to develop a meditation practice that is attuned with the natural world, good for beginners and also for experienced practitioners. We will gather and practice by the sound of the stream, under the trees and surrounded by the sound of the birds.

If you yourself, who are the valley streams and mountains, cannot develop

the power which illuminates the true reality of the mountains and valley

streams, who else is going to be able to convince you that you and the

streams and mountains are one and the same?”

Psychologist, farmer, and father, passionate about mystery and caring for life.

He studied psychology, venturing into and training in areas such as mindfulness, depth psychology, alchemical psychology, ecopsychology, enchantivism, and applied mythology at the Pacifica Graduate Institute, among others.

Has practiced and studied meditation and Zen Buddhism for around 15 years in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi.

He lived and trained at the Zen Center of San Francisco (Tassajara and Green Gulch, Soryi-ji temple) in monastic and semi-monastic environments from 2015 to 2017, to which he has returned over the years. He had the opportunity to study with renowned teachers. Received lay ordination in 2015 from his teacher Zoketsu Norman Fischer.

He is in the process of certification in CBRT (compassion-based resilience training) by the Nalanda Institute for Contemplative Science.

He currently lives in the village of La Curva Nayarit with his wife and daughter, working on his project “IKU Cultura de la tierra” (IKU Culture of the Earth), a small-scale productive and educational biodynamic farm. The project focuses on exploring the practice of mindfulness and presence in service to the natural world and agriculture.

His proposal is an inclusive vision where the natural world and inner experience can express themselves and support each other harmoniously, generating a deep sense of who we are and where we are going.
