On this day we will hear about the real-life experiences of a couple of biodynamic farmers who are visiting us from the United States to share their experiences and lessons learned over the last 16 years of caring for and living on a farm, dancing to the rhythm of the different moments of the living organism.
In a workshop on processes applicable to any ecosystem, you will learn to read and interact with your site based on universal principles of the relationships between the soil, plants, the atmosphere, and the animals that live in it.
Stewart and Natalie have been farming since 2010 in Accomac, Virginia, USA where they tend a market garden, run a small CSA, and raise cows, sheep, hogs, and more. Stewart compiled and edited Biodynamics for Beginners from his late mentor Hugh Courtney and writes prolifically online. In addition to farm life, Stewart also works with the Josephine Porter Institute where he helps make most of the biodynamic preparations used in North America. Natalie plans the growing season and is always trying to grow the most absolutely perfect tomatoes. Both Natalie and Stewart are enthusiastic readers. They appreciate everyday alchemy — from composting to cooking.
